Design and build an eye-catching website to launch this new battlefield tours brand. Provide the client with the capability to update tour information and picture galleries and to optimise the website for their intended audience. The website should be mobile-friendly, modern design but hinting in its colour palette to the red, white and green of Italy. The site should be fast loading, simple to navigate and utilise modern design techniques to engage its users.
Choosing the tech stack for this project was probably the easiest part. The client needed a CMS that was super-simple to learn and use and we wanted granular control over the design. Building the site out in Webflow involved creating CMS collections for the Tours and Blogs and then tying these into the page design so that when the client adds a new tour or blog it instantly updates on the page in precisely the right page design.
Images play a big part of this site. Image galleries of battlefield maps, the region and landscape and of course, there is user-generated content so that the client's customers can be a part of the web content creation process.
Blogging is a very important part of optimising the website and providing users with content that is relevant and highly engaging. Blogs are written by the client and then staged for publishing at a time of their choosing. We designed the database to relate blogs to specific tours.
Every website we create is designed to work beautifully on smartphones, tablets, laptops and desktops. With over 50% of website visits now coming from mobile devices, it's imperative that your site is optimised for mobile browsing.
